Notes and FAQs on the CH-Login user accounts

Important:

CH-Login accounts are considered as personal. For data protection reasons, the Notification Authority for Chemicals has no access to your password and cannot make any changes to your account. In the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC), authorships (i.e. data holders on composition, nanomaterials, quantities and, if applicable, documents) are automatically linked to the account that entered the data. All other accounts of the same notifier have no access (authorship).

Account creation and linking

Do I need a separate CH-Login account for each notifier?

No. A successfully activated CH-Login user account can be linked to several notifiers with different roles. To link an existing user account with an additional notifier, simply submit the completed application form. The number of notifiers is unlimited. When you log in to the register, you can select the company you want to work for the session.

Do I need my own CH-Login user account or can an account be shared with several people?

For reasons of data protection and technical requirements (password, 2-factor authentication, mutations etc.), we recommend that each user has his/her own personal user account.

Is a sub-user account technically subordinate to the main user account?

No. Main and sub-user accounts act independently of each other despite having different roles in the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC). The hierarchy differs only in the possible uses within the register.

I opened my account directly through the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC). Following this procedure, did I open my CH-Login account and request access to the register?

Yes. If you open your CH-Login account directly via the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC), you are requesting access to the register at the same time. Please note that you must complete the full account opening process (including the request access). The application form is then required for the authorisation of the user roles as well as the authorisation of the user (person) by the manufacturer in terms of the Chemicals Ordinance (ChemO). With this CH-Login account, you could also request access to other applications of the Swiss Federal Administration.

How can the access rights of an authorised CH-Login account to a notifier be revoked in the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC)?

The access rights of an authorised user account can be revoked at any time by a main user or a person authorised to sign of the notifier (according to Zefix). To do so, send us the request stating the corresponding CH-Login number to cheminfo@bag.admin.ch.

What information/paraphernalia do I need to log into the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC) with my already linked account?

In order to successfully log into the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC), you will need the email address and password of your CH-Login account as well as access to your device chosen for the 2-factor authentication (SMS or authenticator app).

I already have a CH-Login account. Do I have to create a new one for the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC)?

No. With an existing CH-Login account (which was created, for example, while using another federal application), you can apply for access directly in the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC) and follow the procedure after the creation of an account. You therefore do not need a new/additional account.

Application form

What is an additional application form needed for?

Submitting the application form authorises access to a notifier for a user account (or several, if necessary) with the corresponding roles. In principle, the following applies: one application form per notifier.

Which persons are authorised to sign an application form for the notifier?

The application must be signed by a person authorised to sign according to the Swiss Commercial Register (Central Company Index - Welcome (zefix.ch)) or by an existing main user of the notifier. A sub-user does not have these rights.

My company is located in the Principality of Liechtenstein. Can it act as a manufacturer in terms of the Chemicals Ordinance?

The Principality of Liechtenstein has parallel marketability through a customs union with Switzerland and the EU. Therefore, chemicals can be placed on the market in accordance with the requirements in the EU under REACH/CLP and in Switzerland under the Chemicals Ordinance (ChemO).

To whom is the confirmation email sent after successful link/activation of the CH-login account?

Our confirmation email will be sent to the addresses listed in the email with the application form.

Where can I find the current application forms for the main and sub-user accounts?

Always use the current application forms from our homepage (user accounts).

How long does it take to link/activate my account?

Linking/Activating your account can take up to one week from the submission date of your application form. To avoid any delays, make sure you have successfully created your CH login account (incl. access request to RPC) and submit the application form fully completed and correctly signed. You will receive a confirmation email as soon as the account has been linked/activated for the RPC.

Mutations

How can I change the information of my CH-Login account?

I’m not able to change information of my CH-Login user account. What can I do?

If you are unable to change your personal details (surname and first name, telephone number, email address, 2-factor authentication) of your CH-Login user account yourself, follow these instructions: LINK Mutations

The details of the notifier have changed (e.g. company address, company name, etc.). Where can I make this change?

All information on the notifier (name, address etc.), which operates in the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC), is imported from the UID register (i.e. linked via the Swiss VAT number). Mutations are therefore automatically transferred to the RPC after updating the core data in the UID register and cannot be manually adjusted by the users. If there is no link via the Swiss VAT number or a mutation was not automatically executed, please contact us.

2-factor authentication

Is 2-factor authentication necessary and what options are available?

Yes. 2-factor authentication is mandatory for the Product Register for Chemicals(RPC). Two-factor authentication

Data publication

Will information from my CH-Login account be published or made accessible to third parties?

Only the first and last name of your user account will be published to other users of the same notifier in the context with the authorship. However, the main users of the notifier have access to more information of your CH-Login account, but not for any authorship or further notifiers linked with the same account.

Login

After successfully creating and authorising a CH-Login user account, how can I log into the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC)?

You can log in directly on the homepage of the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC):

Click on "Login" at the top right of the page. Then select the login option via CH-Login. Use the email address as user ID and password of your CH-Login user account and enter the data for your 2-factor authentication. If you have successfully logged in, you will see your first and last name including the notifiers name in the top right-hand corner.

I have forgotten my password. How can I reset it?

If you have forgotten the password of your CH-Login user account, you can request a new one during the login process in the Product Register for Chemicals (RPC). To do so, click on "Forgotten your password?" below the password entry and follow the instructions. A temporary, time-limited password for one-time use will be sent to the email address of your CH-Login account.
