Substance quantity

• New substances above 1 ton per year (quantity placed onto the market in Switzerland) and per manufacturer or importer must be notified.
• For the dossier content, the substance quantity placed onto the market in Switzerland is decisive. The notification must contain all available documents and information on properties, exposure and the adverse effects of the substance on humans and the environment, insofar as these are not already apparent from the technical dossier.
• A substance that is placed on the market in Switzerland in a higher tonnage category than it is registered in the EU is considered a new substance and must be notified.
• New substances below 1 ton per year and which are classified (art. 48, art. 19 ChemO) must be reported (monomers included)
