Inquiry

In order to avoid unnecessary testing and to save costs, joint registration should be the rule (“one substance one registration”, OSOR).

Prior to registration of a non-phase-in substance (or of a phase-in substance that has not been pre-registered), a potential registrant must submit an enquiry to ECHA whether a registration has been submitted already for that same substance. ECHA will then verify the substance identity, in order to determine the registrants of the same substance and to establish contact between them in view of the common data use and registration.
