CH-Login becomes AGOV

AGOV will become the official login for Swiss authorities and will offer greater security and ease of use, replacing the current CH-Login

The Federal Office of Information Technology, Systems and Telecommunication (FOITT) is the owner of the CH-Login user accounts and is expected to introduce the successor solution AGOV throughout the federal administration by mid-2027.

AGOV will thus become Switzerland's official login system, offering increased security and greater user-friendliness. You can use it for various online applications of the federal government, cantons or municipalities. Further information: eIAM Help — eIAM help pages

What does this mean for the Product Register of Chemicals (RPC)?

The introduction of AGOV in the RPC is also necessary and will replace CH-Login in future. Implementation will take place in three stages:

  • From 7 September 2025: prioritisation of AGOV when selecting a login
  • 7 September 2025 – mid-2027: Period during which users with an active CH Login must switch to AGOV themselves
  • From mid-2027: Login in the RPC only possible with AGOV

You can already switch from your existing CH login to AGOV in just a few steps. The FIT provides guidance on this and will assist you with any questions or problems: Help with the switch from CH-LOGIN to AGOV-Login

Important:

  • All your stored authorisations, access rights, roles and other data that you use with your CH login in the RPC will be retained when you switch to AGOV. Only the login procedure will change.
  • Legal entities cannot create an AGOV account. The account always refers to natural persons, and only they can use the AGOV login. Under Swiss law, it is always a natural person who acts as an organ for a legal entity. (Legal entities — agov.ch)
