Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)

In Switzerland, the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is based on the OECD principles of GLP issued on 26th November 1997. The ordinance on Good Laboratory Practice (OGLP, SR 813.112.1) was issued on 18th May 2005 and enacted on 1st August 2005.

The decision / recommendation of the OECD Council of 2nd October 1989 on Compliance with Principles of Good Laboratory Practice [C(89)87(Final)] requires that each OECD member state establish a national GLP Compliance Monitoring Programme.

The following Test Facilities have been inspected by the Swiss Monitoring Authorities. It was found that they were operating in compliance with the GLP Principles at the time they were inspected. The Facilities are in the compliance monitoring programme of the authorities.

The companies below provide services to GLP test facilities or test sites. They are not considered to be test facilities or test sites and cannot enrol in the GLP Compliance Monitoring Programme as such. They obtained a confirmation from the Notification Authority that they are able to provide GLP compliant services as defined in the third column of the table below.

The Working Group of Information Technology (AGIT, Arbeitsgruppe Informationstechnologie) consists of representatives of the GLP Compliance Monitoring Units and of invited experts from the industry. Several documents related to information technology in a GLP environment have been developed. These documents are considered to be interpretations of the Principles according to article 4 paragraph 2 of the OGLP
