REACH Restriction

Art. 3 (31) REACH: "restriction: means any condition for or prohibition of the manufacture, use or placing on the market;"

Restrictions may limit or ban the manufacture, placing on the market or use of a substance/group of substances. A restriction applies to any substance on its own, in a mixture or in an article, including those that do not require registration. The list of restrictions is in annex XVII of the REACH regulation.

Restrictions and bans under the Ordinance on Risk Reduction related to Chemical Products (ORRChem) are in force in Switzerland. To provide an easier overview, the restrictions and bans in terms of the ORRChem for certain substances, preparations and objects are summarised in tabular form in two pdf downloads (FOEN website).
